Overview
The Nursery Teacher Training Course (NTTC) is a teacher training program that focuses on providing a strong foundation in early childhood education. The course is designed to equip aspiring teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to work with young children between the ages of 2-6 years old.
The course covers a range of topics such as child psychology, pedagogy of different subjects, child nutrition, health, and safety, teaching methodology, classroom management, and working with parents. The program includes both theoretical and practical learning components, including teaching practice in preschools, and workshops to develop creativity and teaching skills.
Objectives
The Nursery Teachers Training Course (NTTC) aims to provide a solid foundation for teaching, learning, and child development for aspiring Nursery/Montessori teachers. The course focuses on theoretical aspects of child psychology, pedagogy of various subjects, child nutrition, and emphasizes practical learning through play-based activities. Additionally, the course emphasizes building strong relationships between teachers and parents to promote the wholesome development of the child while in school.
A unique feature of the NTTC in Karnataka State is the practical training component that requires each student to gain hands-on experience at a Pre-Primary/Kindergarten school. Furthermore, the course includes a 2-day creative workshop to enhance the student`s teaching skills.

(a) Theoretical Structure:
First Semester:
- Communication Skills and Computer Fundamentals
- Child Development and Early Childhood Education
- Childhood Health, Nutrition & Education and Guidelines for Pre-School Teacher/Caregivers. Working with Parents
Second Semester:
- Methods in Early Childhood Education and Principles of Education & Teaching Learning.
